SVG to PNG

Convert SVG to PNG, JPG or WebP at any size or several sizes at once, with a transparent or coloured background. Private, in your browser.

SVG images are drawn from shapes, so they stay sharp at any size, but many apps, documents and social networks only accept PNG or JPG. This converter turns SVG files, or SVG code you paste, into crisp pictures at exactly the size you need: scale the original by 1× to 8×, set a width or a height, or create several sizes at once, for example 16 to 512 pixels for app icons.

Keep the background transparent for PNG and WebP, or fill it with white, black or any colour, which JPG always needs. The SVG is checked and cleaned before it is drawn: scripts, event handlers and links to other files are removed. Everything happens in your browser.

How to use SVG to PNG

  1. Choose or drop SVG files, or paste SVG code.
  2. Pick the format: PNG, JPG or WebP.
  3. Choose the size: a scale, a width, a height or several widths.
  4. Pick the background and click Download; several images come as a ZIP.

Features

  • PNG, JPG or WebP output.
  • Scale 1×, 2×, 3×, 4× or 8×, or an exact width or height.
  • Several sizes in one go, e.g. 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 256, 512.
  • Transparent, white, black or custom background.
  • Sharp at every size: the SVG is rendered at the target size, not stretched.
  • Reads sizes in px, pt, mm, cm and in, or from the viewBox.
  • Removes scripts, event handlers and external links for safety.
  • Batch conversion with a ZIP download; nothing is uploaded.

Choosing the output size

An SVG has a natural size from its width and height, or from its viewBox when those are missing. Scale multiplies that size; a scale of 2 or 3 gives sharp results on high-resolution screens. Width and Height set one side exactly and keep the proportions. Several sizes accepts a list of widths and creates one picture for each, which is handy for icons. Very large outputs are limited to 8192 × 8192 pixels so the browser doesn't run out of memory.

PNG, JPG or WebP?

PNG keeps transparency and sharp edges without loss, so it is the usual choice for logos, icons and diagrams. JPG has no transparency and adds small compression artefacts around edges, but it is accepted everywhere; transparent areas become the background colour you choose (white by default). WebP keeps transparency and is much smaller than PNG, and works in all modern browsers but not in every older program.

Why the SVG is cleaned

SVG is a text format that can contain scripts and links to other files. When SVG is drawn as a picture, browsers don't run those scripts, but to be safe the converter removes script elements, embedded HTML, event handler attributes such as onload, and links to external files before drawing. Fonts and pictures that the SVG loads from other websites are not available when it is drawn as an image, so convert text to outlines in your design tool if a font looks wrong.

Common problems

If the result is blank, the SVG may draw outside its viewBox or use a colour of currentColor, which is black when no colour is set. If text uses a font you don't have installed, a fallback font is used. Very complex SVGs with filters can take a moment to draw at large sizes. When an SVG has no size and no viewBox at all, browsers treat it as 300 × 150 pixels.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert SVG to PNG with a transparent background?

Keep Format on PNG and Background on Transparent, choose the size and click Download.

Will the PNG be sharp?

Yes. The SVG is drawn at the exact size you choose, so lines and text stay crisp even at large sizes.

Can I make several sizes at once?

Yes. Choose Several sizes and enter the widths, for example 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512; they download as a ZIP.

Is the SVG to PNG converter free and private?

Yes. It is free, and the conversion happens in your browser without uploading your files.

Why does my text look different?

Fonts that are not installed on your device, or that the SVG loads from the web, can't be used. Convert the text to outlines before exporting the SVG.

Can I paste SVG code?

Yes. Paste the code into the box under the drop area; the preview appears as soon as it is valid SVG.

What is the largest size?

Up to 8192 × 8192 pixels per image.
